Tortoises to Sevilleta

Bolson tortoises will be at the Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, off Exit 169, Interstate 25, south of Valencia County, from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 20. Chris Wiese, senior biologist at the Turner Endangered Species Fund, will speak about this desert species. Sevilleta will receive a group of Bolson tortoises in 2024, with the goal of establishing a sustaining population at the refuge. Refreshments will be provided.
