VISIT BECKER AVE- BELEN’S HISTORICAL ART AND CULTURAL DISTRICT  Becker Avenue, in downtown Belen, is home to three museums, six art galleries, Jaramillo Winery tasting room, Books on Becker used bookstore, the Belen Public Library , a glass blowing shop and one dispensary. Near by is the Southwest Railroad Club Museum, the Rail Runner Train Station and a brew pub.  The Belen Art League 509 Becker Ave  The Belen Art League, established in 1956, is a non-profit center for the arts. The gallery is comprised of local artists and craftspeople of all levels. Membership to the BAL is $30 a year, $12 for students. The gallery is housed in a city owned building built in the early 1930s. Open Fridays and Satur-days, noon to 5:00 with extended hours during the Christmas hol-iday season. Located at 513 Becker Ave. No admission fee.  Books on Becker  A non-profit used book store operated by the Belen Friends of the Library. Nine areas in store are devoted to selling books. Vintage, classics, kid’s, mystery, fantasy, history, and so much more. Kids get two free books with every visit. Comfy chairs to sit and read. Most hardbacks are only $1.00. Proceeds are used to promote literacy in Valencia County and surrounding areas. BOB also donates hundreds of books to the state prison, senior centers, local schools, VA centers and little free libraries. Books on Becker greatly appreciates book donations.
