Valencia County Fishing Tournament: A Charity Event
Join us for a day of competitive fishing and community spirit at the Valencia County Fishing Tournament! This charity event is set to bring together anglers of all ages and skill levels to enjoy the great outdoors while supporting a noble cause. Here’s everything you need to know:
Date and Location:
The tournament will take place along the scenic stretches of the Rio Grande River, from north of the Belen Bridge to south of the Los Lunas Bridge, including the east and west sides of the 2 main ditches.

Entry Details:
Registration: Sign up here.
Entry Fee: $10 (Kids under 6 participate for free!)
Requirements: Participants must have a valid fishing license.
Prizes and Categories:
Compete in several categories including Largest Catfish, Largest Trout, Largest Carp, Largest Bass, and Most Fish Caught. Each category winner will receive 10% of the total prize pool and a trophy proclaiming them as the Fishing Champion of Valencia County.
Charity Contribution:
50% of all entrance proceeds will benefit the Valencia County Animal Shelter, making every cast a cast for a cause.
Special Incentives:
Help keep our rivers clean! Participants who pick up a bag of trash during the event will receive a special VC Fishing Tournament Pin.
