Art Show: Vida, Cultura, y Familia – 10am-5pm – Los LUnas Museum of Heritage and Arts – Vida, Cultura, y Familia is the theme of this year’s Annual Adult Art Show. All artists 18+ are invited to submit original works of art to this show. The show is not juried, but ribbons and prizes will be awarded for Best of Show, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Places, and Honorable Mentions. Best of Show will also receive a solo show at the museum in 2026! – December 6 – January 31: Dates of show – Saturday, December 6: Reception and awards at the museum, 2-4 PM – February 2026: Pick-up of artworks The Los Lunas Museum is open Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-5PM. Southwest Model Railroad Display at Los Lunas Museum – 10am-5pm – The Southwest Model Railroad Museum and Club will feature their travelling exhibit at the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage & Arts. We’re pleased to announce that the Southwest Model Railroad Museum and Club is returning to the Los Lunas Museum of Heritage & Arts with their travelling model railroad display. The trains will be on display from December 6 through December 20. The Los Lunas Museum of Heritage & Arts is open Tuesday-Saturday 10AM-5PM and admission is free. Build and Paint a Birdhouse – 2:30-3:30pm – Bird Education! Join us for a movie and craft project. You can build and paint your own bird house while learning about how we can help our feathered friends. Millions of birds pass through our yards during their Bi-Annual migrations, but they face an invisible killer along the way: glass windows. In the US alone, an estimated one billion birds die each year when the collide with windows. Now, two organizations help pave the way to a bird friendly future.

Free after-school tutoring at the Moose – 3:30-5pm – La Merced Moose Lodge – The La Merced Moose Lodge is offering free after-school tutoring for students, K-12, from 3:30-5 p.m. on Fridays, at the lodge, 306 Rio Communities Blvd. Certified teachers will provide help in math, reading, science and social studies. Guitar Lessons – 10am-12pm – Belen Public Library – Guitars are available for children to use during the lessons. Guitar lessons are offered at 10 a.m. every Saturday at the Belen Public Library. Lessons are also free and open to the public, ages 5-15. Guitars are available for children to use during the lessons, and to check-out so they can practice at home.
