9/11 Remembrance Ceremony – 8:45am – Belen 9/11 Memorial – Join the City of Belen at the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at 8:45am at the Belen 9/11 Memorial at Main and Church Street. This year marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, and we invite residents to join us in reflection and remembrance.

Call Out for Artists – Through Sept. 11th – Belen Art League – The Belen Art League is holding its Fall Art Show open to all artists. The show is from Sept 12-26. To receive an entry form, email the BAL at belenartleague1@gmail.com or pick one up from the gallery at 509 Becker Ave., Belen.
NM Special Orchestra – 3-4:30pm – Belen Public Library – The Valencia County chapter of the New Mexico Special Orchestra performs on the second Friday of each month from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Belen Public Library, 333 Becker Ave. in Belen.
Belen Farmers’ Market – 4:30-7pm – The 2026 Belen Farmer’s Market opens June 12, 2026 through October 30 2026.

12:00–2:00 PM Belen Public Library Meet Belen author Horacio “Sam” Chávez for a special reading and book signing featuring his novel, That Which Dwells—Níhiníá Awakening. Set on the Navajo Nation and in Los Alamos, New Mexico, the speculative novel follows a teacher, a scientist, and a Medicine Man as they uncover ancient wisdom that challenges modern science and explores humanity’s connection to the Earth. Come meet the author, hear selections from the book, and celebrate a local Belen voice!

Historic Tomé Jail and Casita Open to the Public – 11am-3pm – The town of Tomé Land Grant invites the public to visit the historic jail and casita at the Tomé Church Plaza, 18 Church Loop. Visitors are welcomed from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday.
